#20: Ladies Dinners

In this episode, we speak loosely about the idea of getting your church ladies together for the purpose of fellowship and eating good food .  For some of us, food HAS to be involved. Sometimes the plan will fail, other times it'll succeed, either way, the effort is not lost if there's a simple goal in mind. How do we plan ahead to get together with other ladies we'd normally not feel gravitated towards? Or set time aside despite our busy schedule? Join us as we share our ideas and get your juices flowing for your local church unity.

We recognize that each of our relationships with our fathers is unique and encompass both positive and negative experiences. However, we also recognize that they are used by God to teach us many important lessons. By sharing these lessons with our sisters in Christ, we can grow in understanding of one another as sisters and as people. We hope you enjoy these stories as much as we did.

We all felt the weight of the conversation, as there is so much to learn and grow in. Our hope is that the discussion, although not a complete or conclusive one, will bring about the asking of hard questions amongst church family and a growing love for one another through ethnic harmony.  God and Ethnic Harmony  Bethany Baptist Church  The Table of Nations Are There Many Races, or One?  by Voddie Bachaum How Race Works, and Why it Matters For the Church  (Powerpoint) by Michael Emerson Symposium  by Michael Emerson Divided By Faith  by Michael Emerson On Race Part 1  Pastors' Talk On Race Part 2  Pastors' Talk

In episode 13 we discuss evangelism, or how our church likes to say it, gospelizing . If you're like us, the fear and anxiety of failure can inhibit you from spreading the Gospel. In this episode we wrestled with the important, and confusing, concept of modesty . This topic can be controversial, and for good reason. In episode 10, we discuss the thorny issue of discipline (and spanking) . This subject is highly controversial but as parents who seek to disciple their children according to Scripture, it must be carefully considered. Every parent struggles against temper tantrums and defiant attitudes from time to time. Some consider this topic outdated or confusing but God carefully instructs parents on disciplining their kids. #8: Transparency And Vulnerability

In episode 8, we discuss the how’s and why’s of transparency and vulnerability . Being open and honest with church family is often appealing in theory, but we understand that sometimes the journey of getting there can be challenging and uncomfortable. Questions such as “how much to share” “who to share with” “how do I even start” can easily become discouraging. That is why in this episode we share practical ways of connecting with and creating a culture of vulnerability with your church family and some of the many ways we have seen the fruit of this in our own lives. #7: Church Membership

The church can be defined in various ways . As Christians we understand the importance of being connected to a community, but what does it mean to be part of a church? What is a church? #5: Dating (Purpose and Expectations)

In today's episode we tackle the wide world of dating . It's so wide we had to do two episodes and even then there's still so much to talk about. As married women now, we take a look at what dating was for us and how it could be for Christians. The four of us dated differently and that's ok! We all have our ideals and convictions that lead us to speak on the subject, but none of us claim to have THE answer in how to date biblically. We would all agree Christ Jesus must not be ignored and should dictate what parameters to set. It is wisdom issues such as these that make dialogue and encouragement among church women so vital to growth in every area of our lives. Hope you pass it along to your church family.
